In 2011, I had the opportunity to showcase my vector illustration and animation skills while creating the opening motion graphics for the Festival of Local Televisions. The project was produced at Elaia Design Studio in Bratislava, Slovakia. Even years later, I still consider it a solid and enduring example of vector-based animation.

We began by working with the festival's visual identity, which featured colorful outlined television sets, as shown in the image. I developed the animation's storyline, in which TV sets became living creatures and stylized characters, with their appearance and behavior inspired by the lyrics of the accompanying song. Together with a colleague, I created numerous sketches exploring a variety of characters, including the lead singer, a golden statue, and the lovers appearing at the end of the animation. I was then responsible for the overall composition, typography, and animation of the final piece, which was created using Adobe Illustrator, After Effects, and Photoshop.

I enjoyed this project very much because the illustration and animation process involved a great deal of simplification and synchronization, requiring careful attention to geometry, composition, and movement. One of the workflow challenges was creating lip-sync animation for the main TV character and synchronizing it with the background song. This was achieved using the scripting capabilities of After Effects.
